SiteSage gateway

Importance of the Gateway

The SiteSage Version 5 Gateway handles all the communications with other SiteSage devices. The gateway uses a radio frequency to talk to the epod, spod, and other hardware. The gateway also has terminal connections for 1-Wire and pulse devices. The gateway uses a building’s network to send data to the cloud. The gateway can connect via ethernet or wireless to the network.

Wireless Networks

If connecting the gateway a wireless network, power up the gateway. The device will start broadcasting a network called “SiteSage2_0-XXXXXX”. Connect to this network using a smartphone or laptop. Smartphones are often easier.

Upon connecting to this network and seeing a “no network connection” or “limited connectivity” message, open up a web browser to 169.254.1.1. Enter “admin” “admin” as the username and password. Press the “configure wireless” button, select the network, and enter the password. Apply network settings and press the button to reboot the gateway.

If successful, the LINK LED will pulse orange and then become solid green. If not, only the POWER LED will be illuminated. Reset to factory defaults to try again.

Factory Reset Procedure

Use a paperclip to press and release the reset button to the left of the gateway’s DATA light. The LINK and DATA lights will flash orange 7 times and then stay lit for a few seconds.

When the lights are solid, press and release the reset button again. If successful, the LINK and DATA lights will turn green before turning off. The LINK light will now alternate red and green.
