Provide different levels of user access with SiteSage. Learn how in this PowerWise blog post.
SiteSage is an energy management platform that provides insight into how businesses, homes, and other buildings use energy. The software also provides varying degrees of user access, which is typically broken down by the ability to access or edit locations. For example, a user who may occupy one apartment unit does not need to see information about other apartment units.
Each user has a unique login and password, and more than one user can be assigned to a location. A user at a higher level may make changes to users and locations, including location settings, at any level below their own level. The different user types are detailed below:
This user type has access to all locations. These users are the top administrators from the company, and may include trusted technical users who maintain the application code and functionality. Technical admins maintain the software and fix errors as they are found. The Enterprise Admin can create/modify/delete any users of any type across all locations/groups. All settings at the location level can be changed.
The Admin may have access to only a subset of locations depending on what the enterprise admin designates. For instance, an admin may be responsible for many locations of one particular restaurant chain, or several locations from different chains in one locale. This user can create/modify/delete admin/regular/read-only users that have access to the same locations they do. All settings at the location and enterprise level can be changed.
The Regular user typically has access to only a subset of locations depending on what the Enterprise Admin and the Admin allow. This user cannot create/modify/delete any users. All settings for locations for which the Regular user is responsible can be changed.
The Read-Only user usually has access to only a very small subset of locations depending on what the Enterprise Admin or an Admin user dictates. This user cannot create/modify/delete any users and cannot change any settings. When accessing the SiteSage application, all location information, such as addresses and contact information, is anonymized.
This user-access plan is in line with the highest-quality industry standards. More importantly, access is designed to provide people with relevant information about buildings, mechanical systems, environmental conditions, and energy.
