Alabama Power chose PowerWise to report valuable metrics for energy, air quality, water, and new mechanical systems -- for their Smart Neighborhood.
In 2018, Alabama Power completed a 62-home high-tech, energy-efficient community. Each home featured high- performance mechanical systems, home automation, and the latest monitoring technology from PowerWise. The Smart Neighborhood website reports:
“Alabama Power’s Smart Neighborhood is a future-focused, energy-efficient community with homes that are rated 35 percent more efficient than standard Alabama homes being built today.
Located in Reynolds Landing at Ross Bridge in suburban Birmingham, Alabama, Smart Neighborhood integrates high-performance homes, energy efficient systems and appliances, connected devices and a microgrid on a community-wide scale for the first time in the Southeast.”
The SiteSage platform provided valuable performance feedback on the heating, cooling, hot water, and lighting. The dashboard showed the operating costs, runtimes, output, and occupant interaction with these important mechanical systems. Monitoring points included overall electricity use and multiple circuits, water use, relative humidity, CO2, and temperatures.
The alliance, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit, bipartisan group of business, government, environmental and consumer leaders, works to expand the economy.
PowerWise is a proven innovator of monitoring and control technology.
